TRYING OUT NEW DESIGN

Recently my granddaughter visited and decided she wanted a quilt of the reds, oranges, browns then added blue to the combo....at first i thought she was out of her mind as it was out of my comfort zone....and then she said put them together in a pattern....lordy my mind went into overdrive trying to figure out what to use....after she ok'ed it and we revised it some we seettled on this and i thought it needed more so i added a piano key outside border...well i started quilting it this week....

if she reads this blog wont she be suprised???? lol....i think this afternoon though i will be taking a break from it to rest my poked fingers lol...one thing is still up in the air on this quilt...the beige border will need some extensive quilting and my first thought was feathers as those are my favorite but this quilt is modern and feathers are traditional so not a good mix i dont think....i have several stencils of geos and i could even draw something if i could think of good subject to use....i will have to decide soon as i am 3/4 done with the center...i intend to  define each piano key with quilting...a lot of work but i think it will need it....so a lot of work yet before this masterpiece is finished...

lunch was brought in for a few days this week so the dishes havent piled up to much but i have some in the sink from the week end that i better wash up....my son will be here i think tonight ....who knows maybe i will bake something this afternoon while working in the kitchen and send part of it home with him so i wont eat the whole thing lol and besides i could use a little heat in the house....its getting colder outside and i might have to use the furnace soon...old bones cant take the cold like i used to...

ok time to go do something constructive....and of course if i really get bored i can always go clean up my scraps laying all over the sewing room....sure dont take long for them to pile up...more later....
